ANNOUNCING:
Chanah Bella Goldman
Chanah is in memory of Carol Harriet Kaplan Goldman, Chaim's mother. Her Hebrew name was Chanah, which means "grace" or "mercy".
Bella is in memory of Isobel Cheiten Isserlis, Kim's maternal grandmother. She was called Itabella in Yiddish, from which we've taken Bella, which means "beautiful."
So, our little girl's name translates to "beautiful grace".
We had a naming ceremony here in our home, for our family.
It was just the seven of us (wow, seven of us!), and lovely.

This almost 82-year old bassinet was Chaim's mother's when she was a baby. It's amazing to be using it for her namesake.
(Great thanks to Chaim's siblings for shipping it to Israel five years ago....
sorry it took us so long to have a girl to name after your Mom.)
(Yes, of course, it's fresh breast milk in that bottle!)
Now, we were thinking of possibly naming her after my Great-Aunt Louise, instead of after Bella.
But then her name would have been "CHANAH LULU".
(We hear Hawaii is lovely this time of year.)
Just kidding. I don't even have an Aunt Louise.
;-)
