so much for that plan...

The next morning (Thursday)(please see previous entry for context), I came out with chicken pox spots. I've never had it, and when Moshe got it, I went to get an IV of chicken-pox antibodies, to protect me and the baby at least somewhat, as it can be quite dangerous for a baby to be delivered during an active infection of the mother. We hoped I wouldn't get it at all, but here it was, Thursday morning, and I had some spots. Research and advice revealed that all should be OK as long as the baby was not born during the following 5 days. If so, baby would need to go get antibodies injected as well, immediately after birth. Well, there's no way I was going to let that happen, so....

So much for deciding to hold baby in. I went into labor that very night, about midnight, after a long, tiring day. And at 4:42 AM, out came baby #4 (more about the new one in a later post). I love birthing at home! Unfortunately, instead of then being able to stay at home, Chaim and I then had to spend an exhausting day at the hospital, getting baby those antibodies.

We did manage to make it home in time for our first Shabbat with our now larger family. The 2 younger boys and I did feel sick with the chicken pox, but we are all now on the mend.
