Well, we were happy to announce that we are pregnant...but are sad to say that we said goodbye to a furry member of our family this past week. Lauren, my cat that we brought from America, passed away. She was 14 and sick, and it was time.
She had a good (at least interesting)life. She made aliyah (an unusual thing for a cat, I'm told....they have so many cats around these parts, they probably can't imagine anyone purposely bringing one) . Once here, she was happy, until one day we introduced a kitten to the family...who proceeded to terrorize her constantly, until one day she snapped out of it and refused to be a victim. She began to fight back, and had been happy ever since.
So, we had a funeral for her. We buried her in our garden....hopefully the heavy tiles placed on top will keep the dogs away. The boys were very interested. And a little sad. And then, someone saw something more interesting: "Hey, there's a beetle on Zach's shoe!" Funeral over.
